Rachel - Global Director

Rachel Rowling, is the CEO of Gorgeous Getaways and Medaway Health and has spent the majority of her career in the technology and telecom industry throughout Canada, Asia and Australia.  Rachel has successfully led teams to create strategic partnerships and business initiatives for several global Fortune 500 companies such as Nortel Networks, Acrodex, TELUS Communications and Australia’s Alcatel. It is through Rachel's experience with technology and telecom that she learned the power of collaboration, great partners, and customer service.

Rachel has a passion for developing and growing businesses while looking for the next opportunity and has a successful global track record beginning with a successful management buy-out (MBO) of a global business division in 2004. .  In 2010, Rachel left the telecom industry and took over Gorgeous Getaways, the global leader of cosmetic surgery holidays, launching MedAway Health, a medical tourism company focused exclusively on medical treatments in 2011.  MedAway Health and Gorgeous Getaways provide superior care and customer service to customers seeking alternatives for health-care in Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico, and Costa Rica with sales offices in Australia, Mexico, South America, and new offices recently opened in Canada and New York City.

Robynne - Australia Manager

Robynne responsible for all surgery enquiries and bookings for fellow Aussies. After her own surgery experience with Gorgeous Getaways, she became convinced that the company offers a fantastic service to ordinary men & women looking to make positive changes in their lives. She also believes strongly that, together with the obvious physical improvements, the psychological benefits of a surgery holiday are extremely beneficial.

Before joining Gorgeous Getaways, Robynne worked as a Travel Agent, specialising in Asian countries, and had travelled to Malaysia several times before her own surgery holiday. Being able to share her own experience with cosmetic surgery in Kuala Lumpur helps many people to feel more comfortable and confident about their decision to undergo surgery.

 

To her, the best thing about the job is that she "gets to speak with so many wonderful people who are ready to embark on a journey of self-improvement, and they inspire her every day!!”

Kathy - Finance Manager

Though Kathy studied economics and accounting , she but did not really advance into field but went into the construction industry instead. It was an all-round good experience with challenges to explore while learning different things.

She quit from the construction industry and is finally back in finance again after a long time.

People who know Kathy describe her as passionate and dedicated to her job. "I enjoy what I am doing now tremendously."

Paula - NZ, Aust Manager

paula-vernon-picture Paula is responsible for all surgery enquiries and bookings for New Zealand, and the Australian States of Queensland and Northern Territory. She passionately believes that she is a walking, talking, living advertisement for Gorgeous Getaways having had 3 separate surgery experiences over a 3 year period, with Gorgeous Getaways, in beautiful Malaysia .

Prior to joining the team at Gorgeous Getaways Paula came from a Management position in Customer Services. Committed to being a people person coupled with having embarked on her own personal 'growth journey', which included cosmetic surgeries, gives her a wealth of experience that she willingly shares.

In her words, 'I am a truly motivated and positive person who considers it a real privilege to help you achieve the peace of mind and confidences in the planning of a new look you. To share in your journey I find this to be a deeply profound and rewarding experience'.

Henry - Operations Manager (N.America)

Originally from Turkey, Henry has travelled extensively and now resides in Canada. He has extensive global operations experience in managing multimillion dollar manufacturing and retail operations in the Healthcare, and Energy sectors.  His primary focus is in analysing cost of operations, preparing yearly plan for expenditure, and focusing on operational efficiencies. Additional responsibility includes supporting new strategic ventures.  
Henry has a Business Management and Business Administration Diploma from NAIT  (Northern Alberta Institute Technology).

Gabriel - Service Director (Central America)

Gabriel is based in Mexico and has spent more than 20 years in the hospital and travel and tourism industry working for CMC hospital, Carnival Cruise Lines and the Royal Caribbean.

His role as Service Director is to ensure your visit to any of our Central American destinations meet with your (and ours!) service expectations. Gabriel's knowledge, maturity and professionalism is well received by our clients and partners choosing Central America for their medical holiday.

Suzanne - Sales Manager (US/Can)

Suzanne has grown up in Miami Beach, Florida, in the family's hotel business.  Her studies included Travel & Tourism and Hospitality Management from Florida International University, one of the nation's top universities in Hospitality management.  After college, Suzanne traveled extensively for her job, covering more than 156 cities in 35 countries.  
Suzanne then changed careers and followed a path into the healthcare industry, servicing customers, and providers;  in a variety of capacities.  Working for national corporations, she has sold medical and surgical supplies, was a provider relations representative for a national health insurance carrier,  and now holds an active license in 16 states for Life, Health and Annuities insurance.

For the last 10 years, she has been successful in selling Florida real estate, both in the general arena as well as for builders.  Finding Gorgeous Getaways has combined all of her passions for providing quality customer service along with staying in the sales and medical arena.  I think Gorgeous Getaways and their team of experts, is brilliant in helping people achieve their surgical (or dental) end results, in a very caring, warm, more affordable way!

Rowena - Country Manager (Malaysia)

Rowena was attached to a legal firm as a legal secretary for 8 years, before venturing into commercial line for 4 years as a Confidential Secretary in an international IT firm where she also assisted in setting up the ISO department.

After her 3rd child, Rowena quit full-time work and enrolled to study teaching and have been teaching kindergarterners for 3 years, along with caring for her own children. Later, she ventured back to work as an Administrator, Personal Assistant and even Merchandiser before joining GG in Customer Service. Working with GG allowed her the possibility of doing a job and helping people through the most difficult part of their journey, which is right after surgery. 
"It has been so satisfying to see happy clients going back and it is really great to feel that I had contributed somewhat to make them feel more comfortable, not to mention about all the friends that I've made along the way! I feel that with this job, one needs to be most patient, understanding and caring and on top of that, one must have great organizational skill for planning and organizing stuff for the clients and seeing to the needs of the clients, of which I'm proud to say I am blessed with these traits."

Michele - Post Care Consultant (Australia)

Michele is based in Melbourne in an customer liaison and support role.   Michele came to GG as a client and had several surgeries before being offered the opportunity to work with the Australian team.

Prior to joining GG, she was a personal assistant to a business manager for several years.  She was also in the financial and banking sector as a customer  services officer and before that spent 7 years as a chiropractor's assistant.  

"I have always enjoyed working with people and have a focus on helping others.  I can’t believe how lucky I am to work with such a professional caring company.  I have experienced firsthand the care and support of GG from sales to surgery and beyond.  This is a great asset in helping and understanding others achieve their goals.  It is a joy to see our clients regain lost confidences and become butterflies that have been set free!!"

Peinee - Customer Service and Sales Admin

Pei Nee's important role is the "glue" between sales and customer service, ensuring that our clients expectations and plans that were established in the sales process are efficiently carried out with the customer service team. She is extremely efficient and organised to deal with a huge amount of different requests and expectations of clients and brief the customer service team so that each and every client enjoys a smooth and stress free recovery holiday. Yen - Marketing Communications Manager

A Mass Comm Graduate from Minnesota State University, Yen has worked in service, advertising and public relations industries for over 10 years prior to joining Gorgeous Getaways.  Besides writing for and administrating the website, Yen also assists in all matters regarding Marketing Communications for Asia Pacific and Americas.

Since joining Gorgeous Getaways in 2006, Yen cannot think of another more beautiful organization to work with - "loving my job is an understatement".

Christina - Customer Service Manager (Malaysia)

team_christina Christina had served in various industries till she found a niche in Gorgeous Getaways. As a Customer Service Manager, one of her roles is to meet and welcome clients and give them a briefing of their holiday surgery.

Says Christina: 'I love every minute of my job especially meeting clients and journeying with them through the recovery process and, finally witnessing the end results'!. Being a part of an industry which aims to boost confidence in millions of women and men is indeed an honor.

Rosalind - Customer Service Manager (Malaysia)

Prior to Gorgeous Getaways, Rosalind filled different positions in various industries - from sales to service, in which she knows she has found her passion with GG.
