President Luis Abinader announced that since February 16th, 2022, all restrictions are lifted.   He says that there has come the time for “responsibility without restrictions”.  Dominican Republic has almost finished their vaccination plan with the lowest rate of Cv19 cases in the world.   The President states that now everyone has the “individual responsibility” to take care of their health, reason why all restrictions are lifted.  After two years of restrictive measures, the people of Dominican Republic are celebrating this new chapter in their lifes.

There is an end to mask mandates, and vaccination cards are no longer required to enter establishments.  And there are no more restrictions in public places!  Abinader says that people need to emotionally recover after a long battle.  With all restrictions lifted, the country can experience a sense of freedeom.    However, he has not yet announced the end of the pandemic.  Hospitals are still on stand-by, and vaccinations are available for everyone.  If a PCR test or antigen test is needed, those are also available.

Are There Any Entry Restrictions?

They have not yet announced if the random breath tests upon arrival at the airport will be lifted.  But you do not need to present any vaccination card, and no PCR or antigent tests to enter the country.
