This is her story:

An easy decision 
At the beginning of this year I noticed that my stomach was starting to ‘apron’ all of a sudden. I was excercising doing a lot of situps but there was no improvement. What bothered me the most was when I sat down and my stomach sagged. After doing research and talking to others who had the procedure, I decided to do it!

I did a lot of internet research of companies that offer surgery holidays. GORGEOUS GETAWAYS appealed to me as it was Australian owned. I tried so hard to find something wrong with the company but never did!

I did send an email to a surgeon in Singapore to get an approximate price on tummy tuck. His price was going to be close to $20,000 Singapore Dollars. The holiday was not as important to me as I live in Singapore and KL is only a 40 minute flight.

I was quite lucky as I live in Singapore so it made the cost of the holiday a lot cheaper than if I was coming over from Australia. I had a breast lift in Melbourne about 2 years ago. I was really happy with the result so I was not nervous about having more surgery.

Dr Jalil’s a class act 
My first impression of the surgeon was “Is this really the doctor?” He was so nice and personable. Most plastic surgeons in Melbourne come across snobby & aloof!!! Dr Jalil was nothing like this.

The hospital was amazing. My room was like a hotel suite. The nurses and staff were so kind. They look so cute with their nurse hats. The professionalism should be observed by other hospitals in Melbourne.

GORGEOUS GETAWAYS support staff were fantastic. I had a visit every day and phone calls to check on me. What more could you ask for?!!

Relaxing before surgery is a bit hard. I was a little nervous on the day of the operation but not before. I think the pre med always helps!!! As the nurses & assistants at the hospital were so sweet and attentive I trusted the whole process to go smoothly.

I woke up in the recovery room quite confused. They took me directly to my room where I was very lucky to have my husband waiting there for me. He stayed in the room all night with me. I was given a pain killer button which I used for the next 2 days!!!!

Taking it slowly 
I was operated on the Monday afternoon and discharged on the Thursday morning.

As I had a lot of liposuction, this prevented movement for me for about 2 days, so the nurses did not force me out of bed. I had 5.5 litres of fat removed from my lower back & legs. This was quite painful for about 1 week after op. My tummy tuck was not bothering me at all.

I had a lot of swelling in my hips from the tummy tuck. Dr Jalil removed fluid about a week after the op. This gave me some relief although it did come back. I visited the sauna everyday in the hotel and tried to walk as much as possible. I kept my compression suit on for 6 weeks after the operation. This was not easy either as I live in a climate that is always 32 degrees with 95% humidity..

I was quite eager to come home and was very lucky as the flight is only 40 minutes. The airline company I came home with allowed me to board the plane first so that I did not get caught up in the crowd of the plane. I was worried about getting bumped. The plane was half full so I was able to have a whole row to myself!!!

Say hello to my flat tummy 
I am rapt with my tummy. I now sit down and have a completely flat tummy. I still have a long way to go with excercise for my legs to look better but at least I know I have gotten rid of a lot of excess fat. It does make excercise so much easier!

Make sure you fill up your kitchen in the hotel with easy to prepare food before you op – expecially if you are on your own. I did not feel like eating for about 10 days after my op so I had a lot of cup noodles. The fruit in Malaysia is amazing so make sure you experience as much variety as possible.

I would definitely recommend the tummy tuck to any woman who has the apron tummy.
