Curfew issued on December 16th, 2020.

Dominican Republic Travel Restrictions. Two days ago, on December 16th, 2020 the Dominican Republic Government issued a curfew for Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata, and Santiago de los Caballeros among other cities. For everyone’s safety, this will apply seven days a week from 19:00hrs to 5:00hrs, with transit until 21:00hrs.  For the holidays, the curfew hours will remain the same with transit allowance until 1:00hrs of December 25th and January 1st, 2020.  If you do not mind to stay indoors at night, then do not worry, you can enjoy the “Nature Island”.

Free Health Coverage Plan

The Dominican Republic’s Responsible Tourism Recovery Plan offers a free health coverage plan.  It provides coverage for emergencies in case of infection or exposure to Covid-19 while in the country. In addition, this insurance includes medical attention, medical transfers, transfer of a relative, penalty fees for airfare changes, accommodations for prolonged stays, and much more. It is offered at no cost to visitors arriving on or before December 31st, 2020. In order to obtain this plan, visitors must enter the country by air and stay at a hotel.
