Starting the Journey

Shireen is a lovely woman, and very much interested in her current and future health. Recently she was brave enough to fly by herself from the USA to Puerto Vallarta. She had been thinking of a Weight Loss procedure for some time, and she finally decided to have a Gastric Sleeve done with Dr. Sergio del Hoyo at CMQ Hospital.

She stuck strictly to the diet given by the Doctor, and days later got to the airport to start her medical journey. We (I and the Doctor) were in touch with her at all times, so she was confident, even though at the last minute she suffered a delayed flight and lost her connection to Puerto Vallarta. The next day, Shireen flew very early to her destination, just about to take a taxi and get to the Hospital. A few hours later, Dr. Del Hoyo let me know that surgery went perfectly fine and she was already recovering.  “Her dreams came true!”

About Weight Loss Surgery

Weight Loss Surgery is also called Metabolic or Bariatric Surgery and it can help improve many obesity-related conditions, such as high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. This surgery can lead to a significant weight loss, but should only be considered after trying exercise and a healthy diet. If you have tried these but you are still not losing weight, you can be among the one-third of people considered obese and you may be a candidate for Gastric Bypass and/or Sleeve Gastrectomy, depending on your BMI.

Sleeve Gastrectomy

Sleeve Gastrectomy induces weight loss by restricting food intake and is usually performed laparoscopically. The surgeon removes approximately 75 percent of the stomach and results in the stomach taking on the shape of a sleeve which holds much less food.

This procedure is successfully performed as a destination procedure for weight loss in people around the world and it’s permanent, so it cannot be reversed, unlike the gastric bypass. If you need more information about this procedure or would like to contact me. Shireen directly, please leave me a note of you can contact me directly to
