This is her story:

Choosing Malaysia over China
For the last 10 years, I’ve carried an apron and an extra 40kg of weight. I decided to give my gym program a helping hand and get myself a nip and tuck. My friends had spoken about doing something about their problems and I thought why not just do it.

Currently, I reside in China and friends are going to local doctors for their procedures but I’m not that daring. I felt that Malaysia/Thailand had a history of doing plastic surgery so I looked on the internet. I remembered GORGEOUS GETAWAYS from a news item done in NZ (the two women were full of praise and confidence) and that was how I made my decision to use GORGEOUS GETAWAYS.

When I made the initial inquiry I was breathless, even more so when I got of the plane in KL. My husband came with me and we had spoken to girlfriends in China but no one from NZ.

Everything happened quickly
The GORGEOUS GETAWAYS staff, Dr Nasir and hospital staff were wonderful. The hospital service was great. I must admit that I was nervous for weeks before the surgery and only now months after the surgery, am I able to relax about my decision.

The surgery came around so fast, the staff took me into my room, took pre op tests etc and then I woke up looking at an improved but bruised me. The hospital staff were wonderful they cared for me really well.

I felt guilty because I had chosen this procedure and they were so caring. However, I came away with a pressure sore that is still healing now months later but I feel some of that responsibility rests on my shoulders. I chose not to take the pain medication offered therefore I was in pain when I moved and opted to lay in bed (too much) when I should have moved about more. 4 days after surgery I was discharged and removed to recover in the Lanson Apartments.

Sad to leave newfound bonds
I was in Malaysia for a total of 20 days. I was healing very well with little concern. However, the pressure sore and blood loss were concerns. I was very lethargic after operation and movement was very limited.

When it came time to return to China, I was very nervous to leave behind the relationship I had formed with the GORGEOUS GETAWAYS nurse and Dr Nasir. But it was just the boost that my spirits needed to return to my own space and my family. Things worked out from there.

When I first woke from the surgery, it was the first time in 10+ years that I could see all of me. It was just overwhelming! People have asked what diet was I on, etc. and I tell them the truth. I had plastic surgery, Wow! were they surprised.

New outlook on life
I feel great. I am still the same person but I’m not. Having done the surgery I have more belief in myself not because I look different but because I coped and overcome my personal barriers. I am looking for new challenges and have written down a list of things I want to acomplish in the next year and beyond.

My stay in Malaysia was wonderful. I was cared for by the hospital staff and the GORGEOUS GETAWAYS nurse. The GORGEOUS GETAWAYS consultants were helpful and supportive also. I am so pleased that I chose GORGEOUS GETAWAYS as the ladies went out of their way to help me and my family and I am sooo grateful.

If I could offer some advice, be clear in your mind what you want and be patient with yourself. Drink lots of water, it is important.
